WiFi
There is free high-speed WiFi throughout the library. Once you are in the library, your computer should immediately access the WiFi service. If you need assistance visit the Computer Desk.

Computers for AdultsIPPL members with a valid library card can use desktop computers or laptops for 90 minutes a day. (Please note – a photo ID is needed to use a laptop.) Time can be extended if there is nobody waiting for a daily total of 3 hours. These computers are equipped with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2010 products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. We also offer computers for guests without a valid library card and guests who need quick (20 minutes) Internet use. IPPL cardholders can reserve computers up to 24 hours in advance by calling the Computer Help Desk at 630/887-8760, ext 238. |
Computers for Kids & Teens
Kids, teens, and families who have a valid IPPL card can use the desktop computers in the Kids & Teens area. These computers are equipped with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2010 products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. We also have computers for guests without a library card.
Teens in grades 7-12 with IPPL cards can check out laptops and net books for use in the library. Cardholders under the age of 14 need a parent’s permission to access the Internet.
For younger children the library provides computers loaded with pre-K games and websites in our Family Center and iPads with early literacy apps for parents and their children to use together
The library’s Print Centers offer black and white as well as color printing from our laser printers. Wireless printing is available for guests who would like to print from their own laptop or wireless device.
Printing costs:
Black & White – 10 cents per page
Color – 50 cents per page
Scan
You can scan documents at our first floor scanning station, with the option to print, save to a USB, or email the scanned item. There is also a flatbed scanner in the Kids & Teens area. There is no charge for scanning.
