    Amy Caruso and Mary Jo Ramm from Whole Foods Willowbrook will lead a book discussion of It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig, the book that has helped thousands of people come up with a sensible eating plan to lose weight and enhance their quality of life. In addition, they'll offer tastes of foods that are mentioned in the book. Copies of the book will be available at the Checkout Desk beginning on December 3rd.

    In this hands-on class, instructor Christine Thornton will demonstrate how to draw or improve your drawing skills by copying master artists. You'll choose from over 150 reproductions, and create your own small scale mini masterpiece in colored pencil. Space is limited.

    Over the fall and winter of 2014-2015, a collection of Byzantine icons, jewelry, and sculpture will travel from Greece to Chicago for a special exhibition. This exhibit will feature many objects that have never traveled outside of Greece. Art historian Dr. Michelle Paluch-Mishur presents a slide lecture about artwork produced during a thousand years of Byzantine history.

    The music of J.S. Bach and the art of M.C. Escher were both created using what Douglas Hofstadter calls formal systems.
