Summer Reading Challenge for Teens

Birth through Grade 6

Grades 7 through 12

Available Equipment & Usage Requirements

  • Laptops/Netbooks - Requirements: Teens grades 7–12 with valid Indian Prairie Library Card
  • Windows Computer - Requirements: Up to 12th grade with valid Indian Prairie Library Card
  • iMac Computer - Requirements: 4th-8th Grade with valid Indian Prairie Library Card or student in our school district.
  • Research/Catalog Computers with scanner (Internet is not available) - Requirements: None
  • iPads- With early literacy apps for parents and their children to use together- Requirements: Valid Indian Prairie Library Card
  • Younger children computers- Requirements: None ; Located in Family Center
  • Kids under the age of 14 to be allowed to access the Internet, both the child and a parent or legal guardian's signature, in person, is required.
  • Maximum of 3 hours per day. After 30 minutes of use, time may be extended in 15 minute intervals if no one is waiting.
  • Internet Safety for kids & Complete Computer Usage & Internet Policies

Printing & Saving

  • Black & White - 10¢ per page ; Color 25¢ per page
  • You must save to a flash drive or save and e-mail your work. All saved files on the computer are deleted at the end of the session.
  • USB 2GB Flash Drives are available to purchase for $8 at the Youth Services Desk.
